PBIS Store Rewards Positive Choices
Ernie Pyle Middle School’s PBIS Store encourages positive behavior, empowers student leaders and teaches valuable workplace skills.
Good things are happening at Ernie Pyle Middle School!
This year, with the support of teacher Amber Arnett, the Warrior PBIS Store has opened for the sixth year. Students earn points for positive behaviors such as following directions, being respectful, showing outstanding effort or being well prepared. They also get rewarded for making better choices and redirecting well, or providing translation services for staff or other students. Students then shop on-line to redeem their points from the Warrior Store.
Not only is this a school-wide PBIS effort, but students with IEPs are cataloging, taking inventory, delivering prizes and helping to run the store. They learn valuable customer service and executive functioning skills in the process.
