Bilingual presentations highlight environmental STEM learning, real-world problem solving and vibrant family engagement.

Los Padillas Elementary School was buzzing with curiosity and pride as students presented their STEM-focused Genius Hour projects to families, community members and staff.

As part of the school's Sustaining the Future environmental STEM magnet pathway, students shared learning from their Project Lead the Way units, all through bilingual presentations in English and Spanish.

The showcase featured an impressive variety of hands-on, real-world STEM investigations. Pre-K students shared observations from their bird-watching studies, while other grades explored topics such as animal adaptations, ecosystems, energy flow and engineering design challenges.

Students proudly walked their families through their displays and experiments. The event highlighted not only the academic rigor of Los Padillas’ STEM magnet pathway, but also the strength of the school community coming together to celebrate student learning.

Los Padillas continues to invest in environmental STEM education that empowers students to explore, innovate and understand the world around them—and the Genius Hour showcase was a clear example of that mission in action.
