Students recognized for literacy progress and dedication throughout the school year.

Helen Cordero Elementary School recently celebrated students who showed strong reading growth throughout the school year, recognizing their hard work and progress in literacy.

Using data from Amira, students were honored for the gains they made as readers and the effort they put into strengthening their skills. The celebration highlighted the school’s commitment to early literacy and supporting every student’s growth.

As part of the celebration, six students also received bicycles through support from the New Mexico Public Education Department’s Structured Literacy Initiative. The bikes served as an exciting reward and recognition for student achievement.

The event was a meaningful way to celebrate perseverance, growth and the joy of learning while encouraging students to continue building strong reading habits.
