Eldorado Students Take 3rd at National Championship
Four students make their mark competing against experienced adult teams at the Hoover-Ball National Championship.
Four Eldorado High School students represented their school and the MCJROTC program at the 38th Annual Hoover-Ball National Championship, earning an impressive third-place finish against some of the sport’s strongest competition.
Alexis Salas, Jamie Spoonamore, Kailee Tietjen and Mariah Wiersema were the only high school team competing in the tournament, going up against adult women with more than a decade of Hoover-Ball experience.
Despite the experience gap, the Eldorado team held its own and battled its way to a third-place finish.
Their performance is a great example of the determination, teamwork and competitive spirit that APS students bring to opportunities both inside and outside the classroom.
Congratulations, Alexis, Jamie, Kailee and Mariah!
