APS Student Artwork Will Help Voters Celebrate Their Civic Voice
Twelve APS students have been selected to have their designs featured on official "I Voted" stickers for the 2026 General Election.
Twelve Albuquerque Public Schools students have been selected as winners of the 2026 Bernalillo County “I Voted” Sticker Contest, with their original artwork set to become the official “I Voted” stickers distributed to voters throughout the county.
The contest, hosted by the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office in partnership with APS, invited students in grades K–12 to create artwork inspired by the theme “Voting Is Your Superpower.” The contest received 500 submissions, with four winners selected from each grade division.
The winning APS students are:
- Zoey Harris, Grade 2 – John Baker Elementary School
- Bryce Tumpane, Grade 4 – Oñate Elementary School
- Elias Silva, Grade 5 – Coronado Elementary School
- Maya Flores Leggett, Grade 5 – Sandia Base Elementary School
- Catalina Jaramillo, Grade 6 – Tony Hillerman Middle School
- Sarah Salazar, Grade 7 – Eisenhower Middle School
- Gwendalyn-Grace Schuh, Grade 8 – Roosevelt Middle School
- Kyllee Randolph, Grade 8 – Roosevelt Middle School
- Lianna Tran, Grade 11 – Volcano Vista High School
- Micah Solomon, Grade 11 – Volcano Vista High School
- Joni Estonactoc, Grade 11 – Volcano Vista High School
- Rose Griesmeyer, Grade 11 – Sandia High School
The contest gives students an opportunity to explore civic engagement and the importance of voting through creativity and art.
“We were so impressed by the creativity and thought the students put into their designs,” said Bernalillo County Clerk Michelle S. Kavanaugh. “It’s exciting to see young people connect with voting in their own way, and we can’t wait for our voters to see their artwork this election.”
The 12 student artists will be recognized during the Bernalillo County Commission meeting at 5 p.m. Sept. 9 at Alvarado Square, followed by a reception.
APS congratulates these student artists for sharing their creativity with the community and helping bring a little more student voice to the 2026 General Election.
