Alameda Student Shares Wise Words
Fourth grader Arabella Montoya reminds peers to listen to their heart and mind when handling conflicts.
Alameda Elementary kicked off its first Principal Student Advisory Council meeting of the year with students sharing ideas about building a safe and supportive school.
When asked how students can help prevent or respond to conflicts before they escalate, 4th grader Arabella Montoya gave this wise response:
"Their heart and mind can tell them to get out of there and tell a teacher."
To keep the conversation engaging, students even used a yellow cheese fidget as their Talking Stick during discussions.
