In her weekly message, Superintendent Blakey invites the APS community to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. this weekend by engaging in acts of service.
It’s the Friday before a three-day weekend, so my message this week is going to be a little different.
Anyone who knows me knows that Martin Luther King Jr. is one of my heroes and that I have a lot to say about him. So when the Communications team suggested that I do a video message this week, I welcomed the opportunity.
I invite you to watch it and to spend a little time this weekend reflecting on MLK’s incredible legacy and the movement he sparked.
Despite the extreme injustices of his time, he never gave up. His actions taught the world that we have a constant responsibility to push back against injustice in our communities. That’s how we change the world.
Have a wonderful weekend.
