Indian Education Summer Programs

Cultural enrichment, credit recovery, middle school robotics, and indigenous language camp

APS Indian Education Department offers several summer learning opportunities including cultural enrichment, credit recovery, middle school robotics and indigenous language camp. All summer programs will be held at Manzano High School, 12200 Lomas Blvd. NE. Classes are free and open to  Native American students who attend Albuquerque Public Schools. Registration is now open. 

Cultural Enrichment: June 3-27 

  • Pottery Making taught by Kevin Othole
  • Indigenous Music taught by John L. Williams
  • Classes are from 8 a.m.-noon Monday-Thursday.
  • Breakfast served at 7:30 a.m.
  • Lunch served at 11:45 a.m. 

Indigenous Language Camp: June 3-27 

  • Zuni Language
  • Navajo Language
  • Classes are from 8 a.m.-noon Monday-Thursday.
  • Breakfast served at 7:30 a.m.
  • Lunch served at 11:45 a.m. 

(note: language offered subject to change depending on teacher availability) 

Middle School Robotics: June 3-27

  • Classes are from 8 a.m.-noon Monday-Thursday
  • Breakfast served at 7:30 a.m.
  • Lunch served at 11:45 a.m. 

GradPoint Credit Recovery Program

English, Math, Biology and Social Studies

First Session: May 27-June 14 

  • Morning session: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-noon 
  •  Afternoon session: Monday-Friday, 12:30-4:30 p.m.
  • Lunch served at noon. 

Second Session: June 17-July 8 

  • Morning session: Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-noon 
  •  Afternoon session: Monday-Friday, 12:30-4:30 p.m.
  • Lunch served at noon. 

Navajo Language for Grades 10-12: June 3-July 3  

  • Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-2 p.m.
  • Breakfast at 7:30 a.m.
  • Lunch at 11:45 a.m.
