Nusenda Personal Finance Course

Albuquerque Public Schools has partnered with Nusenda Credit Union to offer personal finance as a summer school course.

About the Personal Finance Course

The Nusenda Personal Finance course is a 1/2-credit tuition waved ELECTIVE course. Nusenda Personal Finance is open to any APS high school student in grades 10-12. There is no fee for the course.

Please note: The Nusenda Personal Finance and APS Financial Literacy Math are separate courses.

Course Details

  • Location: West Mesa High School – Term 1
    Dates: June 1 - 19, Monday - Friday
    Time: 7:45 a.m. – noon
  • Location: La Cueva High School – Term 2
    Dates: June 22 – July 13, Monday - Friday
    Time: 7:45 a.m. – noon

The Nusenda Personal Finance course uses a Common Core-aligned curriculum created by Nusenda Credit Union. It goes beyond basic financial knowledge by providing high school students with the tools needed to make educated financial choices and positively influence financial behavior. The curriculum is based on an award-winning research-based curriculum by the Annie E. Casey Foundation and provides participants with the financial information to create financial plans, effectively manage their money, and become knowledgeable financial consumers.
