Immigrant Access to Healthcare & General Benefits Training 2021
APS Medicaid and New Mexico Center on Law & Poverty present the 2021 Immigrant Access to Healthcare & General Benefits Training
APS Medicaid Enrollment Office, along with New Mexico Center on Law & Poverty, are hosting the virtual 2021 "Immigrant Access to Healthcare & General Benefits Training" on Thursday, September 9, 2021 from 1-3 pm on Zoom. With such ambiguity and messaging in regards to immigrant families and healthcare coverage and support, we feel this training is vital for anyone who works with these populations or in the healthcare industry, providing services - specifically during the global pandemic.
At this highly important training, Sovereign Hager (legal director and public benefits attorney with NMCLP) will be discussing access to public benefits and healthcare for immigrant families, VISA types, and other supports for families such as TANF, LIHEAP and SNAP, and how to access those for your clients or families. Please note: The final 15 minutes will be a Q&A period. This is a virtual event - we usually do these at APS but for safety, we are hosting the training virtually. No certificate is given upon completion, but the information provided is invaluable for many of us assisting those in need.
