Parents, Teachers, Principals -- We Want to Hear from You!

APS is using surveys to get feedback on remote learning.

It's hard to take the pulse of the school community while keeping your distance during a contagious pandemic. One helpful tool — surveys.

Surveys are filling a void created by the constraints of the pandemic. We may not be able to come together to talk about what's working and what's not, but you can give us feedback by taking a few minutes to fill out a survey.

APS has already sent several surveys to its community to gauge their feelings about remote learning, the hybrid option, technology, etc.

Now, APS is sending out another round of surveys — this time to parents, teachers, and principals — to see how remote learning is going so far.

The confidential responses will help the district better understand the challenges students and staff face, what additional support they need, and what lessons have been learned as we work to deliver quality education to all students.

This latest survey was first emailed from via SurveyMonkey to families, teachers and principals early in the week of Sept. 14. If you are a parent or guardian who didn't receive the survey, check your Spam folder (we've heard a few may have ended up there).

Families will be asked about their communication with teachers, time spent learning on- and offline, problems with technology and internet access, their ability to assist their children with learning, how remote learning is going for their child, and suggestions for improvement.

Teachers are being asked how synchronous and asynchronous learning is going, if they feel they were adequately trained, what additional training they need, and what they need to help them prepare to move to a hybrid model next semester.

Principals also are being surveyed to see how remote learning is going for their students and teachers. Their survey also asks questions about meal distribution, department support, training, scheduling, observations and preparations for hybrid learning.
