Registering for eCademy, the APS Online School

Due to high interest, we ask that you be patient with the registration process.

Albuquerque Public Schools is offering a full-time, online learning option for interested students in all grades this school year.

An online school choice

APS expanded its online high school, eCademy High School, to include kindergarten through eighth grade. The magnet school offers a comprehensive curriculum, a teacher/student ratio similar to traditional classrooms, district-provided technology for each enrolled student, and school/home partnerships to ensure student success.

Who can attend?

eCademy is open to all students, whether they recently attended an APS school or are new to the district.

Students who transfer from another APS school may return to their school if they decide the online option isn't a good fit, though they are encouraged to stay at eCademy for at least one semester for continuity of instruction.

The school is set to start on Aug. 12, along with all other APS schools.

Interested in the online school or seeking more information?

The online school serves as yet another school choice for families seeking the best academic path for their child(ren). Students will be expected to attend all online classes, complete assignments, and receive grades and feedback.

The school is in the process of hiring New Mexico certified teachers. Applicants will be able to apply online.

APS recently surveyed its families to measure interest in the K-12 online school. Thousands indicated an interest in the alternative learning option. Due to the high interest, we ask that you be patient with the registration process.

APS Reentry Plan

This option isn’t for everyone, and APS has a reentry plan that considers three models for teaching and learning in the 2020-2021 school year:

  1. In-Person Instruction (Green)
  2. A Combination of Both In-Person Instruction and Remote Learning (Yellow)
  3. Remote Learning (Red)

As of now, the APS school year is set to start in the red (remote learning) and switch to yellow (a combination of remote and in-school) beginning Sept. 8. The schedule is subject to change depending on the spread of the coronavirus and public health orders.
