How many schools are there in APS?

For the 2021-2022 school year, Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) was comprised of 148 traditional or alternative schools/programs and 31 district charter schools. Among the 148 traditional or alternative schools/programs are 88 elementary schools (K-5), 5 K-8 schools, 28 middle schools (6-8), 20 high schools, and 7 alternative schools.

How many students are enrolled in APS?

For the 2021-2022 school year, APS served a total of 82,334 students. This includes 73,346 students who were enrolled in an APS traditional or alternative program and 8,988 students who were enrolled in a district charter school. How many enrollments were there in an Advanced Placement (AP) course during the 2019-2020 school year?

What percent of APS students receive free- or reduced-price meals?

How many APS schools offer free lunches for their entire student populations under the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food and Nutrition Services’ Community Eligibility Provision?

For the 2021-2022 school year, 102 APS traditional schools and 19 APS charter schools feed 100% of their student populations by way of the USDA, Food and Nutrition Services’ Community Eligibility Provision.

What is the threshold for a school-wide Title I program?

To be eligible for a school-wide Title I program, 40% or more of the school’s students must be eligible for free- or reduced-price lunch. Schools with 75% or more of the school’s students eligible for free- or reduced-price lunch must be funded prior to funding lower-ranked schools. Employment

How many teachers work for APS?

As of October 11, 2022, Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) employed 6,440 teachers. This includes early childhood (preschool), elementary, secondary, special education, bilingual and gifted teachers, as well as librarians and computer lab instructors.
