Refugee Parent Engagement Program

At APS, we understand how important it is to have parents/guardians directly involved in the education of their children especially during this period of virtual learning. To address this, RNSP is working with groups of parent leaders from the local refugee community to directly address these challenges. These groups of parent leaders will work with APS Refugee Case Managers in bi-weekly meetings to address specific issues and gain skills that can help parents better support their children's academics.

They will learn a number of programs and skills such as:

  • ParentVue and StudentVUE
  • How to access online libraries, e-books and audiobooks
  • How to access APS support programs
  • Google Classroom

The Parent Engagement Program is held 100% in the native languages of the refugee families and include Dari/Farsi, Pashto, Swahili and Arabic. No English translation will be provided.
