Equity Champion Award

A quarterly award to recognize those who ensure and promote equity and engagement in their school or community.

APS is a culturally and linguistically responsive, diverse community committed to educational equity for all students.

APS provides various levels of support and assistance to students, families, and schools appropriate to specific needs. District leadership, principals, teachers, and staff develop programming, resources, and supports by looking at the needs of the whole child through an equity lens.

Do you know an APS employee who embodies the characteristics of equity in the district? Someone who ensures and promotes equitable access to APS resources, supports, programming, or initiatives, engages families and the community in a culturally sensitive and equitable manner, promotes access to high quality culturally responsive instruction, bilingualism and biliteracy, or opportunities for students to develop critical racial, ethnic and cultural competencies.
