Korean American Day honors people of Korean descent who have made contributions to America.

On January 13, 1903, 102 pioneer Korean immigrants arrived in the United States initiating the first chapter of Korean immigration to America. Since 1903, over 1 million Koreans have immigrated to the US. In the years that have passed, Korean-Americans have made a valuable contribution towards society, and it’s on Korean American day that we honor and celebrate their contribution. After its first proclamation by President George W. Bush in 2003, Korean American Day is officially founded as a holiday by the U.S. House and Senate.
