A Journey to Find the Village: Building Cultural Understanding, Leadership, and Allyship

The African American Youth Empowerment Summit (AA-YES) is a youth cultural leadership event centered around the empowerment of  African American / Black students in Albuquerque Public Schools. It is open to all High School students in the district no matter their race/ethnicity. There will be opportunities for all students to build their cultural knowledge, develop skills around being a strong ally, learn about and celebrate their culture and history, and build community understanding and networks

Event Details 

  • The event will be hosted Via Zoom on April 30th, 2022.
  • Zoom details will be provided upon registration. 
  • Hakim Bellamy will be the Keynote Speaker
