Summer Learning

APS offers learning opportunities for students of all ages across the district.

Summer Learning Adventure: New Mexico Wild

A 15-day, hands-on, science-based summer camp. Elementary and middle school students will explore New Mexico plants, animals, habitats, aquatics, and geology. The program is free. Dates: June 3-21.

K-5 Plus

A 25-day summer program for students entering kindergarten through fifth grade who attend a high-needs APS school. Held at 57 APS and charter schools, K-5 Plus emphasizes literacy, math, art, music, science and social skills. The program aims to increase cognitive skills, improve test scores and provide summer enrichment experiences. The program dates are June 5-July 11 for students who attend APS schools on an alternative calendar; June 19-July 25 for students who attend APS schools on a traditional calendar.

High School Summer School

For students who need to make-up credits and get back on track to graduate on time. Incoming freshmen also may take PE in the summer to free up their schedule during the school year. Semester 1 runs from June 3-21; semester 2 runs from June 24-July 16.

Indian Education Summer Programs

APS Indian Education Department offers several summer learning opportunities including cultural enrichment, credit recovery, middle school robotics, and indigenous language camp. All summer programs will be held at Manzano High School, 12200 Lomas Blvd. NE. Classes are free and open to  Native American students who attend Albuquerque Public Schools. Registration is now open.
