Student of the Week: Rodolfo Luna

Third Grade at Emerson Elementary School

Congratulations to Rodolfo Luna, a third grader at Emerson Elementary School, for being named the Student of the Week by the New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union and the APS Education Foundation!

What can a parent or teacher say about this student?
Rudy’s teacher, Maria Diaz, writes: In the four months that I have known Rudy, he has proven to be a role model for not only his peers, but his brothers and sisters as well. He is always the first to help other students and motivated to learn more about topics, constantly asking me questions that challenge me to become a better teacher. He has beautiful goals for himself, which include graduating high school, going to college, learning more about technology, and becoming an engineer.  He says that when he is in college, he is going to “spend all day in the library.” He is truly the definition of an Emerson Eagle who SOARs every day.

What’s this student’s favorite subject?
Rudy reports that science is his favorite subject because he can learn other subjects through science.

What are this student’s hobbies or activities, both at school and outside of school?
Rudy reports that he likes to do his homework and when that is finished he likes to go outside to play kickball with his brothers and sisters.
