What Mel likes about school: So far, high school has been one of the most exciting yet challenging experiences of my life. If not for my friends and the support of my teachers, I wouldn't have made it this far.

Favorite subject: My favorite class is my AP U.S. History class because it's been a huge eye-opener that has significantly broadened my understanding of the world around me.

Hobbies and activities: My four main hobbies are writing, drawing, singing, and taking care of animals.

Plans for the future: I hope to publish a novel someday.
