Student of the Week Lucas Peralta

Posted March 1, 2021, 7:00 AM. Updated March 1, 2021, 8:48 AM.

Junior at Nex+Gen Academy

A little about Lucas's school experience: Ever since I first joined (Nex+Gen) as a freshman, I knew it was a good choice. Everyone was extremely kind to each other and it was really easy to make friends, and everyone is on good terms with each other. There's been a lot of projects that involve working across grades, which helps you to make friends with the other students more easily, and everyone is so open with letting you join them in whatever activity.

Favorite subject: My favorite class this year is our American Studies class, which is our English/Social studies class. So far, we've done a bunch of pretty fun projects, and we just finished one where we made a monologue of a character who lived through the 1920s and 30s, the monologue was supposed to include a story that talked about a lot of the different problems and aspects of those decades that people faced.

Plans for the future: In the future, I want to work in the field of physics. The way light works has been my favorite thing to look over and learn, so I want to do something related to light.
