Senior at New Futures High School

Nusenda Credit Union, in partnership with the APS Education Foundation, highlights an APS student each week.

Elexus’ school experience: I have been to many different schools throughout my educational journey. I finally found a school that fits my education needs, as well as my son’s needs. I have learned that it is never too late to finish high school and graduate. New Futures has helped get me back on track and I am excited to say that I am finally graduating in May 2020.

Favorite subject: My favorite subject is chemistry because I like the hands-on actives as well as the learning experiences that tie into each project. I enjoy working with each lab assignment because I want to learn new things and it will help me in my future career.

Plans for the future: I am interested in both the medical field and event planning. I am planning on attending college after I graduate high school so that I can continue to learn more about the areas I am interested in.
