Student of the Week Amber Seligman

8th grader at James Monroe Middle School

Nusenda Credit Union, in partnership with the APS Education Foundation, highlights an APS student each week.

What Amber says about school: My school experience has been great so far. Every teacher I’ve had has been very supportive and understanding of my needs. I hope the rest of my teachers will be the same!

Favorite subject: My favorite subject is math because it challenges my brain more than others. I really enjoy solving linear, exponential, and quadratic equations.

Hobbies and activities: My hobbies are chess, choir, and racquetball. My other activities include attending Type 1 Diabetes camp, volunteering as a Camp 180 Diabetes Camp Youth Ambassador, and babysitting. I have participated in chess club for the past two years, choir for three, and have been playing racquetball since the age of 9. I have attended Type 1 Diabetes Camp for four years, been a Youth Ambassador for the camp for one year, and recently started babysitting.
