Student of the Week: Alexia Moore

Congratulations to Alexia Moore, a 4th grader at Sandia Base Elementary School, for being named the Student of the Week by the New Mexico Educators Federal Credit Union and the APS Education Foundation.

About Lexi:

According to Lexi’s teacher Elizabeth Dukart, “Lexi is a joy to have in class! She truly makes my day each and every day. I love her thinking and the creative ideas she is constantly forming. She inspires me to be a better teacher so that I can challenge her and the rest of my students. I love her writing and I enjoy watching her tackle new ideas with enthusiasm."

Favorite subject:

Lexi loves science! Her wonderful ideas and creativity really help her to understand and explore the concepts. She also enjoys math and is a wonderful writer!

Hobbies or activities, both at school and outside of school:

Lexi is a great help at home with her younger brothers. She also loves trying to help the environment. She really wants to save the planet so she goes around the neighborhood picking up trash and helps plant flowers around her yard. She is one of the toughest, fastest, strongest teammates during soccer season and a great asset to her team. Raising money for Japan, trying to stop Kony, putting forth effort to save her planet and clean up her neighborhood, and most importantly: being there to help her family and making them smile every single day.
