2018-19 Students of the Week

Posted April 29, 2019, 4:25 PM. Updated July 12, 2019, 12:48 PM.

For nearly a decade, Nusenda Credit Union and the APS Education Foundation have recognized students each week during the school year. For the first time this year, these students also will be recognized by the APS Board of Education at its regular meeting on Wednesday, May 1.

The meeting will take place at the new Berna Facio Professional Development Complex, 3315 Louisiana NE.

Schools are selected at random to choose a student of the week. The task falls to the principal who often seeks staff nominations.

The APS Student of the Week is featured in the Albuquerque Journal on Mondays as well as at APS.edu and our social media venues.

“The truth is, we have hundreds of students of the week, every week, in APS. But this feature at least allows our community to focus on one special kid each week as a representation of many of our students," said APS Education Foundation Executive Director Shannon Barnhill.
