Perfect Attendance Pays Off

Four Albuquerque area students each won $3,000 during the annual giveaway by the Albuquerque New Car & Truck Dealers Association.

About 150 APS high school students and a few charter school students earned a chance to win $3,000 because they showed up at school every day during the 2018-19 school year.

Their names were tossed into one of four jars -- for freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors -- during the annual Perfect Attendance Celebration on June 13 sponsored by the Albuquerque New Car & Truck Dealers Association.

One winner per grade walked away with a check for $3,000.

And the winners were:

  • Adrian Gonzales, who had perfect attendance during his just-completed freshman year at Rio Grande High School
  • Vivian Jones, who just finished up her sophomore year at Eldorado High School
  • Zachery McMillan, who was a junior at ASK Academy
  • Nathan Reyes, who just graduated from NexGen Academy

The Albuquerque New Car & Truck Dealers Association has sponsored this cash drawing for several years now to celebrate the accomplishment of students who have perfect attendance.
