APS Bond/Mill Levy Election: Addressing Urgent & Basic Repairs

Putting the health and safety of APS students and staff first

APS is asking voters to vote on a bond and mill levy funding package that would help APS make urgent and basic repairs to aging schools, ensuring the health and safety of students and staff.

If passed, tax rates would not increase and funding would not be used for central office administration salaries.

What would the bond and mill levy pay for?

  • Fixing leaking roofs
  • Improving heating and cooling systems
  • Removing lead from aging pipes to ensure safe drinking water
  • Making schools welcoming to all by adding wheelchair ramps and accessible bathrooms
  • Purchasing musical instruments and art equipment
  • Enhancing school security
  • Renovating classrooms

Icons representing items bond/mill levy would help pay for.

This is a much more modest ask compared to February's mail-in election. The focus this time around is on urgent and basic repairs.

All expenditures will be subject to independent oversight and audit to ensure your tax dollars are spent in a responsible and transparent manner.

Early Voting

  • Vote early at the Bernalillo County Clerk's Annex, 1500 Lomas A NW through Nov. 2
  • Other early voting sites open Saturday, Oct. 19, through Saturday, Nov. 2.
