Zia Elementary Students Collect Supplies for Veterans' Support Dogs

Drive aims to highlight human-animal bond, benefit Paws and Stripes nonprofit.

Students at Zia Elementary School are collecting dog supplies for Paws and Stripes, a local nonprofit that pairs veterans with emotional and physical support dogs from rescue shelters.

The drive, which runs through the end of February, is part of a campaign to highlight the value of the connection between humans and animals.

Donations of canned dog food, treats, toys and leashes can be dropped off at Zia Elementary, 440 Jefferson St. NE, or Clark's Pet Emporium, 4914 Lomas NE.
