Nonprofit Looks to Help Albuquerque Children in Need

Cops for Kids seeking donations to provide Christmas gifts for children.

Cops for Kids, a nonprofit organization working with the Albuquerque Police Department, is looking for sponsors for a Christmastime event that will benefit underprivileged children in the city.

The 30th annual Cops for Kids event will be held Dec. 8 and will provide Christmas gifts for children. About 80 to 100 kids are selected each year and their participation is based on household income and available funding.

Organizers are hoping to find sponsors at $100 per child. Go to crimestoppersnm.com, hit the donate button and select Cops for Kids. The donation is tax-deductible.
