APS/United Way Employee Campaign Opens

Posted October 21, 2024, 8:00 AM. Updated October 25, 2024, 9:52 AM.

Albuquerque Public Schools employees and the community at large can give to a school, program or the APS Education Foundation through the United Way campaign, which opens Oct. 21 and runs through Nov. 8.

District employees have been generous in the past, and their contributions have helped fund the Foundation’s successful grant programs that go to innovative and engaging projects throughout APS. Employees also can give to individual district departments, or any nonprofit organization of their choice.

The APS Education Foundation partners with the community to invest in innovative and enhanced learning opportunities to ensure students reach their full potential.  Through the support of giving campaigns like the United Way, the Foundation was able to provide more than $637,000 in funding to 104 APS programs directly affecting more than  25,000 students.

The campaign, APS Education Foundation Executive Director Shannon Barnhill said, is yet another way to accentuate APS’ presence in the community, as well as showing Albuquerque our employees are #APSProud.
