APS Graduations Underway
A look at what to expect and what's not allowed at commencement ceremonies.
It’s graduation season at Albuquerque Public Schools, with ceremonies for most APS magnet high schools on Thursday and Friday, and graduations for comprehensive high schools kicking off on Monday.
Berna Facio graduations
Transition Services, School on Wheels, Freedom High, New Futures High, Nex+Gen Academy and Early College Academy will have their ceremonies at Berna Facio Professional Development Complex, 3315 Louisiana Blvd. NE.
No glass vases or balloons will be allowed at the Berna Facio graduation ceremonies.
Tingley graduations
APS comprehensive high schools and eCADEMY High School will have their graduations at Tingley Coliseum at EXPO New Mexico.
If you’re planning to attend a graduation ceremony at Tingley, be prepared to walk through a metal detector. Please allow extra time for the security screenings.
Only clear bags will be allowed. Other items not allowed at APS graduation ceremonies are:
- Outside food
- Outside beverages, including water
- Balloons
- Noisemakers
- Glass vases
Flowers are permitted but will also be available for purchase at Tingley.
Parking is free at Gate 8, the Lomas and Louisiana entrance. Anyone needing handicap parking should use Gate 3, the Copper and San Pedro entrance. Handicap placards will be required.
Drivers should also know they will only be able to make right-hand turns to enter EXPO NM.
