A Thank You to Our Legislators, Governor
Support for N.M. public education and APS is appreciated in all our schools.
Sometimes, being a state legislator is a thankless job.
The following is a heartfelt thank you.
On behalf of the 65,000 students in the state’s largest school district, Albuquerque Public Schools would like to extend its appreciation to the Legislature for its support of public education.
The district also extends its deep thanks to Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham for signing legislation that will make it possible for schools throughout New Mexico and in Albuquerque to continue their critical mission.
APS is due to receive about $14.9 million in capital outlay funding. In addition the crucial State Equalization Guarantee will increase and all APS employees also will receive a much-deserved 4% raise.
We’re grateful to be in a state where public education – and the children who are New Mexico’s most valuable resource – are valued, heard and appreciated. Thank you for your service!
