Tag You're It!: New Campaign Seeks to Remind Students to Return Electronic Devices
APS required to keep track of the items.
Albuquerque Public Schools issued tens of thousands of laptops and other electronic devices to students in August. As the school year winds down, the district is reminding students to return those devices before heading out for summer break.
To drive home the point, APS has launched a catchy public awareness campaign dubbed Tag You’re It!
“In the same way you return a library book when you’re finished reading it, you need to return this item to APS when you’re finished with it,” a woman says on the video. “Even if you just found the item, if it has a barcode, it has to go back to APS.”
She goes on to say that even if a device is old or broken, it needs to be returned to APS. Devices can be returned to any APS location.
Eventually, QR codes will be affixed to APS devices linking to the video message and instructions on what to do if they find the item.
The APS Finance Department, which is responsible for keeping district inventory records up to date, launched the public awareness campaign.
