Public Invited to Review English, Spanish Language Arts Instructional Materials
Teachers and members of the school community are invited to review and give input on proposed high-quality instructional materials for elementary and middle school students.
Albuquerque Public Schools is in the process of selecting K-8 English Language Arts and K-5 Spanish Language Arts high-quality instructional materials to be used in the coming years. Parents, guardians, family members, employees, teachers, and community members are invited to look at and give input on the materials that are being considered at the APS administrative offices, 6400 Uptown Blvd. NE.
The materials will be available for review on the following dates:
- 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17.
- 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18
- 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
- 3-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 25.
- 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 2.
- 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8.
For those unable to attend the dates and/or hours above, appointments can be made between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. from Oct. 10 through Nov. 9. Call Ashley Griego with Curriculum and Instruction at (505) 872-6874 to schedule an appointment.

The district plans to purchase high-quality instructional materials that will support teachers as they provide students with engaging and authentic, relevant opportunities for learning that emphasize inquiry, align with state standards, provide supports for students' needs, and value students’ individual assets and interests.
APS will review 6-12 Spanish Language Arts materials later this school year.
Opportunities for General Feedback
APS has created a Google form for the community to offer general feedback on textbook reviews. This form will be available through Nov. 9. Feedback collected will be used as part of our review process.
