Getting the Word Out on Early Childhood Programs

Posted February 21, 2024, 4:35 PM. Updated February 21, 2024, 4:39 PM.

Preschool is free and available to everyone.

Laying a solid foundation for learning is crucial.

To help parents build that foundation, Albuquerque Public Schools recently joined with the city, county, state, and other agencies to host an Early Childhood Choice Fair. The fair was aimed at giving families a window into programs and resources available to preschoolers in the APS district and helping them decide which best fits their child’s needs.

“Investing in children early and getting them on a good start is critical,” said incoming APS superintendent Gabriella Blakey. “Preschool is free and available to everyone, so we want parents to know that there are so many different options out there. And we’re all working together to make sure that parents can find the right place for their child.”
