APS Board of Education Community Conversations
Charting a course toward better student outcomes.
The Albuquerque Public Schools Board of Education invites you to join the conversation on the characteristics of the next APS superintendent.
Superintendent Scott Elder's contract ends on June 30, 2024, and the Board of Education, tasked with hiring the next superintendent, will consider your input as they evaluate applicants for this critical job.
Just like with the board-adopted goals and guardrails, the board wants to make sure the characteristics of the new superintendent reflect the community’s vision and values.
In addition to gathering input on the characteristics of the next APS superintendent, board members will present information and updates on:
- Student Outcomes Focused Governance
- The Board's Goals and Guardrails
- The District's Strategic Plan
Student outcomes don't change until adult behavior changes! The APS Board of Education, like a growing number of school boards across the nation, understands that change starts with them. That is why they are committed to improving the way they interact with you -- the community. Please join the conversation on what is possible for the students in Albuquerque Public Schools.
