APS Students Showcase Works of Art at Berna Facio Complex

Metro Youth Art Exhibit on display through March 16

Who needs a fancy museum when you can take in amazing works of art right here in Albuquerque? Best of all, the dazzling artwork was created by APS middle and high school students.

The annual Albuquerque Public Schools Metro Youth Art Exhibit opened Monday and runs through March 16 at the APS Berna Facio Professional Development Complex, 3115 Louisiana Blvd. NE. Exhibit hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, March 4 and 11.

The exhibit is free and open to the public, and the awards ceremony will be live for the first time since 2019.

A closing reception, featuring live music and food trucks, will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on March 16, with the awards presentation beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The professionally juried exhibit is sponsored by the APS Fine Arts Department. The art featured in the exhibit is created by APS students in a variety of high school visual arts classes. Selected work from middle school students is also displayed at the show.
