42nd Annual Pageant of Bands Winners

Albuquerque Public Schools high school marching bands will compete in the 42nd annual New Mexico Pageant of Bands on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Rio Rancho Ram Stadium. Gates open at 7:45 a.m. 

Bands compete against those of comparable size, beginning with the smallest in the morning. A total of 27 bands will participate in the competition, which started in 1980 to provide a competitive arena for displaying local bands' musical and marching skills. In its 42 years, the Pageant of Bands has grown to include marching bands from across the state.

Schedule for APS Marching Bands 

Class 1A

  • Manzano: 8:15 a.m. 
  • Valley: 8:30 a.m. 

Class 2A

  • West Mesa:  8:45 a.m. 
  • Sandia: 9 a.m.

Class 3A 

  • Volcano Vista: 11:45 a.m. 
  • Albuquerque: 12:45 p.m.  

Class 4A 

  • Cibola: 2:15 p.m.  
  • Atrisco Heritage: 2:45 p.m.  

Class 5A

  • La Cueva: 3:45 p.m. 
  • Eldorado: 4:45 p.m.  

Awards ceremonies will follow the performances. 

Admission  

  • $10 for adults
  • $7 for high school and college students, seniors, and military
  • Free for middle school and younger students
