End-of-Year Drop-offs, Pickups

Schools will be contacting families (if they haven't already) with information on safely dropping off materials and picking up personal belongings beginning Friday, May 15.

As the school year winds to an end, APS schools are working on ways to get personal belongings back to students and also to collect school materials such as books, musical instruments, and uniforms.

Most pickups and drop-offs will take place beginning Friday, May 15, and continue through next week (dates will vary by school.) The last day of school is Friday, May 22.

The district has provided guidelines for schools to make sure these events are safe and expedient. Each school is responsible for coming up with a plan that works best for their students and families. Flexibility is key to accommodating all families.

Guidelines for Drop-offs and Pickups

  • Students may enter school buildings in small groups by appointment. This may be by name, grade level, advisory class, etc. Students must follow the public health order and school guidelines.
  • Students may not congregate and must maintain social distancing rules, staying at least six feet apart.
  • Students should not touch anything other than their belongings.
  • Students and families should make every effort to wear face coverings such as homemade masks or scarves while picking up belongings and returning materials.
  • Textbooks, library books and other materials should be placed in a garbage bag with the student's name on it. Contents of the garbage bags should be left untouched for a week to assure any contamination recedes.
