Foundation Board of Directors Names New President

Wells Fargo Vice President Robert J. Schapira has been elected to head the board in 2013.

Wells Fargo Vice President Robert J. Schapira, who heads the bank’s small-business banking efforts in New Mexico, Texas and Arkansas, has been elected to head the Albuquerque Public Schools Education Foundation’s Board of Directors for 2013.

Schapira joined the Foundation board nearly two years ago and served as vice president in 2012. He succeeds Cristy Carbon-Gaul, whose two-year term as president concluded in December. Carbon-Gaul, a local attorney, will remain on the board.

In addition to Schapira, the Foundation board will be led by incoming vice president Leslie Hoffman, vice president at Accion New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado; treasurer JJ Griego of Griego Professional Services; and secretary Adrian Chavez, Key Account Manager of PepsiCo Food Service in Albuquerque.

The Foundation board also welcomed two new members: Jeff Cain, vice president of marketing at Sandia Area Federal Credit Union; and Traci Olivas, a lawyer at Sutin, Thayer & Browne.
