Thanks ABQ for School Supply Donations
Members of the Corporate Volunteer Council of New Mexico raised more than $40,000 for school supplies for APS students.
The Corporate Volunteer Council of New Mexico partnered with the One Albuquerque Fund and the City of Albuquerque’s Office of Civic Engagement to raise money for school supplies to help Albuquerque Public Schools families. Examples of supplies that will be purchased with these donations through the Albuquerque Public Schools Education Foundation include pencils and pens, colored pencils and markers, glue sticks, spiral notebooks, protractors, and many other essential learning utensils.
"Thanks to the employees of over a dozen members of the Corporate Volunteer Council and the City of Albuquerque for their generosity and coming together for our students during this time when more families are in need of community support,” said Vaisu Desai Bronk, manager of APS Volunteer Programs and Special Projects. "No student should miss a day of school due to a lack of basic needs like school supplies. The annual supply drive helps provide students with the necessary tools to come to school ready to learn and thrive."
School supplies are available to all APS schools and APS charter schools through the APS Community Clothing Bank/School Supply Barn.
