APS Teachers Take Learning Outside
The APS Education Foundation awards grants to teachers and programs that support outdoor learning.
For years, teachers across the district have found value in learning outdoors, through field trips, school gardens, and outdoor learning spaces. The pandemic has elevated outdoor learning even more.
The APS Education Foundation has awarded several grants to teachers to support their outdoor learning efforts.
"This year, we received a record number of grants for outdoor learning spaces," said Jasy Shiparski, President of the APS Education Foundation Board of Directors. "We are all continuing to navigate life amidst a pandemic, and the schools are no different. Their grants for outdoor learning spaces illustrate innovation for keeping the learning going even in challenging times."
