Class of 2020 Virtual Graduations

The more traditional graduation ceremonies are posted to the APS Graduation website.

Virtual Graduations

Albuquerque Public Schools, in collaboration with Herff Jones, StageClip and MarchingOrder, is hosting Class of 2020 virtual graduation ceremonies for the district's 13 comprehensive high schools and College and Career High School. All 14 customized, personalized graduation experiences went live at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 28.

Hear each graduate's name read as personalized slides and video clips are displayed. Students can share on social media using #MoveTheTassel or #gradAWAYtion to mark the transition from high school to the next stage in life.

While this isn't the same as in-person graduation, it still allows graduates to share their achievements with families, friends, and classmates.

Links to all 14 of the graduation ceremonies will be posted to the APS Graduation website.

APS Senior Celebration Videos

More than a dozen actors, athletes, and politicians with ties to Albuquerque sent the Class of 2020 messages of hope included in Senior Celebration videos that premiered in mid-May during what was supposed to be graduation week for Albuquerque Public Schools.

The videos were personalized for each of APS’s 13 comprehensive and 8 magnet high schools, mixing celebrity and politician shout outs with photographs and videos of students.

Included in the video are messages from New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham, Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller, actors Neil Patrick Harris, Bryan Cranston, Bob Odenkirk, Steven Michael Quezada, and Jesse Tyler Ferguson; all-star baseball player Alex Bregman and representatives of New Mexico United; and many more.

All 21 APS high school videos are posted to the APS Graduation website and YouTube

Graduation Message from APS & The Board of Education

“Dear 2020 Graduates,

Your finals days of high school in the middle of a global pandemic were unprecedented. What you take from this experience is up to you.

Here’s hoping you choose gratitude for all who have helped you reach this pinnacle in your life, even during the most challenging of times.

Here’s hoping you choose camaraderie, joining the team of volunteers and professionals, neighbors and strangers who support each other, believe in one another, have faith in the future.

Here’s hoping you choose hope.

It’s amazing how so many in our community and around the world have come together in this time of crisis. You are part of that movement. It is now part of your foundation. Build on it, and you will go far.

Albuquerque Public Schools salutes the Graduating Class of 2020! Today is your day! Go move mountains! Get on your way!"
