Meet the 2020 Selfless Seniors

Posted April 14, 2020, 3:05 PM. Updated December 18, 2023, 4:06 PM.

Fourteen of the most giving and impressive students in Albuquerque Public Schools have been selected as 2020 Selfless Seniors by the APS Education Foundation.

The students -- nominated for their often unheralded contributions to school, community and family -- were supposed to be recognized at the Foundation's annual Gold Bar Gala. Like so many other things that have been impacted by the public health crisis, the 2020 gala has been postponed indefinitely. But that doesn't mean these students shouldn't still be recognized.

Dozens of nominations from throughout Albuquerque Public Schools were submitted, and a committee of community members reviewed them before making the choices: one student per comprehensive high school and one representing an APS magnet school.

Once they were selected and before everyone was self-distancing, popular Albuquerque photographer Frank Frost captured stunning images of these seniors, as he has every year since the inception of Selfless Seniors in 2008.

The students’ photos have been featured on electronic billboards around the city.
