We Made the Switch From Paper to Digital Flyers

APS is using email and websites to share information on a whole host of resources and activities for students and families.

APS has traditionally allowed program providers to distribute flyers through our schools on a whole range of topics so long as they benefit students and families. The process up until now has been cumbersome, time-consuming, not eco-friendly, and not wholly accessible.

So we made the switch to a more modern, accessible, and eco-friendly format for information sharing.

What This Means for Families

No action is required on your part. You should receive a welcome email from our service provider, Peachjar, that includes a username and password. This is provided to allow you to manage your account and flyer delivery preferences. But you don't need to login to receive or view school digital flyers.

To ensure smooth delivery of this communication, we suggest you add “school@peachjar.com” to your email contacts. When you receive your first digital flyer, be sure to click “always display images.”

This system is used exclusively for distribution of school-approved flyers. Your email address will not be shared or used for any other purpose. You can also visit your school’s website to see school-approved digital flyers. Simply click the Peachjar button on each school’s website.

What this Means for Schools

This platform gives our schools another way to communicate with families. You can send and post flyers on events, programs, resources, and more.

Peachjar has dozens of flyer templates for schools to use in both English and Spanish on a range of topics from back to school night to picture day.

School flyers will be posted online and automatically emailed to families as visually engaging images in a “digital backpack.” Upon launch, families will access your school flyers through the Peachjar button that will be placed on your school’s home page.

What this Means for our Community Partners

Upon launch right after Labor Day, you may register with Peachjar as a "Program Provider" and upload your flyer for distribution to your desired school(s). In your Peachjar account, you will be able to upload your flyer and add call-to-action buttons such as “Call” and “Sign Up Now” for families to interact directly with your flyer. In your account, you will also have the ability to view flyer metrics to monitor your flyer campaigns.

After your flyer has been submitted through Peachjar, it will be routed automatically to the APS Communications Office for approval, then emailed to all families who have their email address on file with the district at the school(s) designated by you.

Peachjar charges a fee for this service, typically less than the cost to copy and deliver paper flyers. Paper flyers will no longer be distributed.

ADA Compliant

  • Flyers are scanned, and text is captured
  • Website, email and ALL flyers meet SCAG 2.0 AA Requirements
  • No extra work for District or school staff
  • Paper flyers are not accessible by everyone

 Reaching Low-Income Families

  • ~9 out of 10 U.S. families own a smartphone with the ability to go online, according to Pew research
  • APS requires families to have email addresses to register students.
  • APS uses email to contact families (via SchoolMessenger) in cases of emergencies and for attendance.
  • APS once again is partnering with Comcast to provide inexpensive internet access to families at Title I schools.
  • Families can access digital flyers without an email address by going to school websites.
  • Our schools have computers available for families to use where they can peruse the flyers.

Environmentally Friendly

Albuquerque Public Schools has committed to reducing energy consumption, eliminating waste and being good stewards of the earth. Peachjar estimates that it saves an average of 84,000 sheets of paper per school each year.
