Summer break is less than a month away at Albuquerque Public Schools, and New Mexico United has the perfect way to help students, staff and their families celebrate the end of the school year.

It’s called APS Schools Out 2025, and it will happen at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 7, during the New Mexico United match against the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. The match will be at Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes Park.

The theme of this year’s celebration is “A Math-Tastic Game Night with New Mexico United!” – a nod to the work underway to improve math proficiency rates among APS middle schoolers.

For every ticket purchased through a dedicated link by June 4, $4 will be donated to the APS Education Foundation to support innovative school projects.

During the special game night, students will have the opportunity to engage in math activities by filling out stats cards. APS board members will pass out those stats cards and other math activities to students. Students who fill out the score cards can submit them for a drawing to win prizes.

APS students will be highlighted throughout the night.

  • The APS middle school soccer team with the best sportsmanship record will be the ball managers for the game.
  • The class with the highest math proficiency gains will receive free tickets to the game.
  • The National Anthem will be performed by Eldorado High School’s Gold Rush Choir.
  • Flag runners at the beginning of the game will be students from Carlos Rey Elementary.

Additionally, the APS Board of Education and Human Resources Department will have tables in the concourse, with HR staff available to discuss job openings within the district.
