Spring 2020 Grants Now Accepting Applications

The APS Education Foundation's annual grant programs provide more than half a million dollars to APS schools, classrooms, and educators.

All applications must be received by 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31. 

Funding available for STEM, Fine Arts, and Literacy Projects

Horizon Awards support educators in their efforts to provide innovative, hands-on learning opportunities to students in Albuquerque Public Schools. 

Schools may apply for up to $1,500 for single classroom projects and up to $5,000 for team/multiple classroom activities.

Before and After-School Programs and Student Clubs/Activities

Achieve Awards are designed to support school-based programs and student activities that engage students beyond the regular school day. Projects funded under this grant include before- and after-school clubs, student organizations/groups, and extracurricular/co-curricular activities. 

Schools may apply up to $10,000 for APS school-sponsored clubs and student activities. Qualifying activities include, but are not limited to, marching bands, education-based field trips, and academic events.

School-Wide Programs

Success Awards provide support for innovative practices impacting grade levels, subject levels, or an entire school. 

Proposals must show results in keeping students in school, giving them a heightened chance for success in their academic futures, and/or improving student's overall learning environment. K-12 principals and APS departments may apply for funding between $10,000 and $25,000.  Programs must impact an entire student body or grade level.

Elementary Level Literacy Projects

The Guhl Literacy Award is designed to improve literacy at the PreK – 5 level, supporting literacy programs or projects with the potential to have a high impact on a large number of students.

Awards range from $15,000 and $35,000. Only APS Elementary (K-5) principals or APS Departments may apply.
