Native American Community Academy (NACA) in Albuquerque has an opening for a Special Education Licensed Inclusion Teacher School Year 2019-2020.  This position is for an educator who is able to collaborate successfully with Regular Education Teachers to meet the individual needs, interests and abilities of students with disabilities while complying with NM Common Core Standards, Federal and State Special Education Laws, and the goals, objectives, accommodations and modifications as indicated on the individual student IEP plans.

DUTIES:

 

  • Co Teacher in an inclusive setting who will collaborate with Regular Education teacher to implement individualized educational plans in alignment with modifications/accommodations with learning in the classroom/testing environment in grades 1-4 as needed and 6-8 grade History and Science classes.
  • Help to implement accommodations/modifications in instruction, lessons and/or activities and/or projects and assessments with the Regular Education Teacher.
  • Plan, organize, and assign activities that are specific to each student’s abilities
  • Provide support for students with disabilities and regular ed students as a class, in small groups, and one-on-one
  •  Assess students’ performance, and monitor/support their progress towards their annual goals.
  • Discuss student’s progress with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators
  • Attend IEP meetings as requested
  • Clerical duties in SE Department as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or higher
  • Special Education License
  • Knowledgeable in Federal/State Special Education Laws

Certificates and Licenses: 

Special Education Teaching License 

Supervision Received:

Is under the direction of the NACA Director of Curriculum and Instruction and NACA Director of Special Education and Head of School. 

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary for this position is competitive and depends on prior experience. In addition, a comprehensive benefits package is included.
