Immediate opening – Bilingual kindergarten teacher

Certification/Educational Qualifications:

  • Be appropriately licensed and endorsed with current New Mexico PED-issued license and endorsement(s) for specific annual assignment, in accordance with NMPED’s annual Staff License Requirement document.
  • Current trainings in accordance with this Employee Handbook and GC Policy (e.g. Bloodborne Pathogens, etc.)
  • Current background check in compliance with school policy
  • Familiarity with International Baccalaureate program and teaching methodologies and continual professional development in IB.

Classroom Teacher  

Summary of position:  This employee is responsible for the planning, developing, evaluating and delivering of direct instruction in the subject areas assigned annually for the students on the employee’s roster, as well as the safety and well-being of all students on campus. 

FLSA Status:  Exempt (professional)

School Personnel Act Classification:  Licensed

Immediate supervisor:  School Director

Compensation:  Salaried, according to placement on NMIS Teacher Salary Schedule.  See Appendix 1. Bilingual Education Teacher Stipend available for properly endorsed teachers servicing children in Spanish.  See Appendix 3.

Hours: Full-time employees must be present on campus M-F from 8:10am – 3:30pm, minus 30 minute lunch, per dates shown on annual NMIS Instructional Calendar.  However, duties may extend beyond required on-campus hours. Part-time employees will have varied on-campus required hours/days proportional to their full time equivalency as agreed upon between administrator and employee.
