Principal Job Description


  • Knowledge of school law, finance, and curriculum.
  • Able to manage personnel
  • Able to interpret policy, procedures, and data
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills

  • Occasional district wide and state wide travel

Competency 1: The Principal promotes the success of all students by maintaining a culture that supports student achievement, high quality instruction, and professional development to meet the diverse learning needs of the school community.

Required Qualifications*


  • A master's degree in education or equivalent.
  • A valid New Mexico administrative license.
  • A minimum of five years classroom experience as a teacher.
  • A strong background in Curriculum & Instruction a minimum 3 years of experience.

Alternatives to the above qualifications are at the discretion of the Governing Council to ensure selection of an effective, successful candidate.
